Vision

A vibrant and a representative network for the interests of the civil society organisations and other stakeholders in Gulu District.

Mission
To represent and build the capacities of civil society

organisations through co-ordination, networking, lobbying, advocacy and training, and interfacing with other stakeholders for improved quality of life in Gulu District.

Objectives
To mobilise all CSOs in Gulu District to be members of the Forum;

To interface with local government, donors both in and outside the district, other CSOs and other international agencies for promotion of good governance and protection of human rights;

To promote networking and information sharing among CSOs and other stakeholders;
To develop and maintain a database of all CSOs in the district;

To offer appropriate representation at various development fora within and without the district;
To promote and market CSOs in joint planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of development projects in the district;
To play an advocacy role on issues that enhances the realisation of the mission of the forum;
To ensure equality in pursuing its objectives through affirmative action where needed;
To carry out such activities or projects in the districts, which in the opinion of GDNF may be beneficial in the furtherance of its objectives.

Membership
The membership of Gulu District NGO Forum is open to the following organizations (that will abide to the objectives of the Forum and agree to pay membership and subscription fee levied on them).
All registered NGOs operating in Gulu District.
All CSOs registered in the District.
All religious organizations registered in the district.
All recognized traditional institutions in Gulu District.
Any other CSO operating in the district.
